Volunteering for WTTW’s Biking the Boulevards

Active Trans volunteers, members, board and staff had a great time last night answering phones at WTTW for their pledge drive.

Our group of 16 (including one who biked to the studio!), arrived at 6 p.m. for a delicious dinner and training on how to handle pledge calls.

We got a lot of calls during Geoffrey Baer’s Biking the Boulevards show and were instructed to ask people pledging for their favorite bike routes which Geoffrey read on the air.

Geoffrey and everyone at WTTW were incredibly gracious and fun to be around (really, he’s just as great in person as what you see on the shows!). Special thanks to our volunteer leaders, Barb and Lester, for making sure we could do our jobs properly.

If you missed the show or haven’t pledged yet, you still can on WTTW’s website. A $60 pledge gets you WTTW membership and a DVD of Biking the Boulevards. $120 gets you the membership, DVD and a Where to Bike Chicago book (great new book with 30 or so bike rides around the region).
