McHenry County to get its first bike lanes!
The City of Crystal Lake will be installing dedicated on-street bike lanes on Dole Ave. between Lake Shore Dr. and Woodstock St. What's notable about this project is that these are the first bike lanes installed in McHenry County.
This project, which will stripe five-foot bike lanes on each side of Dole Ave. for a nearly one-mile stretch, will provide bicycle riders with a safe route between Crystal Lake's Main Beach and downtown Crystal Lake.
Congrats to Crystal Lake!
Construction on the bike lanes should start in late April, and be completed by the end of May in time for the Bike With Your Neighbors event on June 12th. For more information, check out the details on the City of Crystal Lake's website.
