Mayoral candidate wants to work with us

Miguel del Valle, who is expected to file soon to run for Mayor of City of Chicago, says in the Sun-Times that he wants to work with Active Transportation Alliance to make Chicago one of the most bicycle friendly cities in the country. He adds that he wants more bike lanes and better pavement. We agree.

This week at our Annual Member Meeting, we presented a sneak peak of some advocacy ideas that are on our minds right now. These include seeing the implementation of the midwest's first cycle track, traffic calming in Humboldt Park and speed reduction.

Active Trans is working with several like-minded environmental and transportation organization to promote a joint platform to the mayoral candidates. Stay tuned for the grand unveiling in a few weeks!
