Here we go 'round the Roundabout…
They aren't just for Europeans anymore. Lake County, Illinois is proudly touting the opening of its first ever roundabout at the intersection of Everett and Riverwoods Roads near Lincolnshire. An Active Transer went out to see this rare occurrence of an indicator species of livable streets, and snapped these photos.
Confused about how the whole thing works? Lake County has also created a terrific video tutorial explaining to motorists how to use the roundabout, with a serious emphasis on being aware of pedestrians and bicyclists. Fabulous!
