Did You Know?

Half of school children walked or biked to school in 1969, but only 13 percent were doing it in 2009.

Free bike parking at the Taste of Chicago

Going to the Taste of Chicago this weekend? Do you want to ride your bike there, but don't want to worry about hunting down a parking space and then locking up?

We've got you covered!

Active Trans is running a free bike valet through Sunday July 3rd just outside the Taste of Chicago, at the southwest corner of Monroe Ave. and Lake Shore Drive. Since last Friday, we have parked and retrieved nearly 350 bikes for event attendees.

Our bike valet is open 11 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. through Saturday, July 2nd, and from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 3rd.

So stop by our secure valet area and let our team keep an eye on your bike while you enjoy what Taste of Chicago has to offer!

If you want to help us make the valet a success by helping to park bikes, we are looking for a few people to join our group of dedicated volunteers to help make it a success. Each day we have 2 volunteer shifts: 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. and 4 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. All volunteers will receive free food tickets for the Taste.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email Scott Bruzek at bikevalet@activetrans.org or call 630.596.3513.
