DuPage County trail news

Activity abounds on DuPage County trails, starting with a closure of the Illinois Prairie Path's Aurora Spur between Batavia Road and Warrenville Road.

/This section will be temporarily closed for road work and associated path realignment at Butterfield Road and Rockwell Road.

This stretch is expected to be closed through November 11. A detour route has been established.

Mark your calendar for two events on Tuesday, October 18.

At 1:30 p.m., join the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, and the Lisle Township Highway Department to blaze a new trail between Greene Valley Forest Preserve and local neighborhoods.

On the evening of October 18, you can meet up with the DuPage County Trails Maintenance Committee.

This group was formed in response to public and county concerns on trail conditions and vegetation on the Illinois Prairie Path and Great Western Trail.

Members of the public are invited to attend and provide comments. The meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jack T. Knuepfer Administration Center, 421 N. County Farm Rd., Room 3-500B.
