All Chicago mayoral candidates support bike and pedestrian plans, more transit funding
With the Chicago mayoral election only a month away, voters are now getting better acquainted with the candidates.
Active Trans was pleased with many of the candidates’ responses to the recently released Green Growth questionnaire. The questions were created by a coalition of 17 environmental, conservation and civic organizations, including the Active Transportation Alliance.
Questions 12-16 address transportation. While some of the answers lack specificity, it’s encouraging to see across-the-board support for initiatives that will improve walking, biking and transit in Chicago!

I want our city budget and policies to prioritize the safety and mobility of our most vulnerable travelers. Active Transportation Alliance’s work advances this goal through their campaigns to improve public transit, win dedicated stated state funding for alternative modes, and advocate for safer crosswalks and bike lanes.
