 Thank you Ms. Clara, who keeps children and adults safe while crossing the gaping Elston Ave./Diversey Pkwy./Western Ave. intersection!

Since 2005, the State of Illinois has been officially honoring these individuals with Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. This year, the observance is today, May 1.

Thank you to all crossing guards who safely shepherd our children across the street. You're true heroes. Please give 'em a smile, wave and a big thank you today.
