Did You Know?

While the Chicago region’s population grew by 18 percent since 1980, the traffic increased by 66 percent in the same period.

old news, still exciting

As an occasional transit rider and a full-time transit geek, I can't believe I missed the news about new routes being added to the Chicago Transit Authority's bus tracking system, particularly the one that passes by my front door. According to this article, several new routes were added March 2.

This morning as I was organizing the last of my belongings I saw my regular bus drive by. I logged onto the CTA's bus tracking website and was able to see that the next but was 10 minutes away. I was able to time my departure perfectly with the arrival of the bus.

The bus-tracking website can be found here: http://www.ctabustracker.com/bustime/home.jsp

If your cell phone has internet capacity you may be able to view the bus tracker that way too. You can also create a bus-tracking widget for your mac too!
