Did You Know?

Bus riders account for more than 20 percent of people using Lake Shore Drive every day while taking up a fraction of the space that cars do.

Lousiville, KY's Hip-Hop Bike-to-Transit Appeal

I love, love, love the fact that CTA and PACE have bike racks on all their buses.  Sometimes I use them because I'm traveling with firends who met up with me on foot.  Sometimes I use them because I've got a flat tire and I would rather patch a tube in the comfort of my own home.  Sometimes I just feel too lazy to ride to my destination, and jumping on the bus is an easy way to take a break. I was, however, very apprehensive the first time I used a bus bike rack, because I was afraid I wouldn't do it right and the bus driver and passengers would all throw balled-up Red Eyes at me, and then my bike would fall off the rack as soon as the bus started to move. TARC, Louisville, KY's public transportation authority, has found a way to address this fear. They harnessed the mighty flow of Mr. Theo, who has to be the GREATEST multi-modal MC dropping English in the United States today.  Check it out and see him work his magic.  I'm pretty sure that TARC has the same Byk-Rak racks that the CTA has recently been unveiling, so I hope that anyone who has been intimidated by the racks in the past will see how easy they are to use.
