Lakefront Trail Conditions 3/16

With the warmer weather, the Trail is free of ice and snow but not free of salt, run-off and winter surface damage. The Park District is in the preparation phases of their annual patch and repair program which will occur this spring. The removed pavement between North Avenue and Oak Street will be repaved as a part of this program. Many other smaller needs will also be attended to and the general Trail condition will be upgraded as a result.

As we move from winter to spring, the emphasis on clearing the Trail of ice and snow is shifted to cleaning the Trail. There is always a bit of transition time, but we will work with the Park District to minimize this as much as possible.
