Did You Know?

Chicago’s first protected bike lane on Kinzie St. increased ridership by 55 percent without increasing traffic congestion for cars.

Lakefront Trail Conditions 2/25/11

The wind was out of the Northwest, not the Northeast as forecasted, this morning (2/25) so water was not washing up over the Trail south of Fullerton. There was some ice and lots of sand but no fresh water.

The Oak Street Bend was still receiving some occasional small waves washing over the Trail. The Park District had spread some salt over the Bend but some of this had been washed away by waves.

From Oak Street to Ohio Street the Trail was clear.

The forecast is for more snow on Saturday with possible rain on Sunday, so please be careful of changing weather conditions as you make your riding choices for the weekend.

Thanks, Randy
