Half of school children walked or biked to school in 1969, but only 13 percent were doing it in 2009.

Good news for DuPage trail users

Just in time for fall, the following two sections of the Illinois Prairie Path in DuPage County have reopened.

/On the Batavia Spur, from Ferry Road to Eola Road, utility work has been completed nearly two months early and the path restored.

The impact of construction on the Great Western Trail from County Farm Road to Prince Crossing Road has not been as great as expected.

Construction for a trail spur to Timber Ridge Forest Preserve has occasionally limited access to the Great Western Trail, but this segment of the trail will not have to be closed for extended periods of time.
