Did You Know?

Although people of color make up about one third of the population, they make up 46.1 percent of pedestrian deaths.

Cubs home opener commuter of the day

And the winner is…Sam, who was spotted in a Cub's jersey biking southbound on Elston Avenue! src=http://www.activetrans.org/sites/default/files/IMAGE_233_0.jpg(Elston, by the way, is the future site of a protected bike lane–be sure to sign on to our campaign pushing for more protected bike lanes.)

Sam also was sporting a Blackhawks helmet and said he was open to rooting for the Sox and Bulls, too. A true supporter of our local sports teams!

Sam hangs out with 6,000 other people who bike in the Chicago area at www.thechainlink.org. He also told us that he has called the Active Trans Crash Support Hotline, which he said proved in dealing with the aftermath of his bike crash.

Congrats, Sam, and let's hear for the local baseball teams!
