Completing the streets
As you might know, earlier this year Illinois Department of Transportation adopted new guidelines to implement the state's Complete Streets policy. As part of those guidelines, IDOT staff are required to consult with Active Transportation Alliance about planned road projects. We provide IDOT with recomendations on how to improve access for bicyclists, pedestrians and transit riders. See below for two recent comment letters we sent to IDOT. We have many more underway.
