Did You Know?

Chicago’s first protected bike lane on Kinzie St. increased ridership by 55 percent without increasing traffic congestion for cars.

Chicago kids need your old bike!

Planning on a new bike for you or a loved one this holiday season? Consider donating your old one to Chicago youth and the Velocampus.

The Chicago Velocampus—the new velodrome located at the old U.S. Steel property on the South Side—has launched Cycle 4 Seasons, a fundraising drive to put a roof on the track so that racing may take place year round.

The initiative includes Fix-to-Own, a collabrative outreach and education effort with Epic Academy Charter High School that will provide underserved Chicago youth with a six-week bicycle repair course.

At the completion of the program, each participant gets to keep the bike. Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin December 13th. Please give today!
