Advice for new cyclists

If you know someone who's saddling up for the first time, you should consider yourself an ambassador for the cause.

You can help a newbie build confidence on the road by riding with him or her and sharing safety tips along the way.

The most recent issue of Active Trans’ newsletter, Modeshift, contains an article with great suggestions on how to help new cyclist develop good skills. 

And of course, don't forget this piece of advice that applies to cyclists of all experience levels: Take it slow and drink lots of water when the temperatures surge upward.
