Fall is budget season in the Chicago region and that means we've entered a critical stage in our Transit Future campaign with the Center for Neighborhood Technology(CNT). As talks continue with President Toni Preckwinkle and all 17 members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, here are three ways you can help:

1. SIGN AND SHARE: County leaders are currently developing the 2016 budget and we’ve called for devoting a portion of gas tax revenue to transit expansion. Commissioners are interested but they need to hear from constituents like you! Sign a letter to your commissioner today, then share it with your friends on Twitter and Facebook

2. TWEET YOUR COMMISSIONER: Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and many county commissioners are active on social media and responsive to constituent concerns. Find your commissioner on our social media list and urge them to support Transit Future today. Be sure to tag @transit_future in your post!

3. ATTEND A BUDGET HEARING: Starting Wednesday October 28th the county will be hosting four public hearings on the 2016 budget in the city and suburbs. This is a great opportunity for supporters to help promote Transit Future and speak with leaders directly about why you support rapid transit expansion. Contact kyle@activetrans.org if you’re interested in attending a hearing.
