Join us on May 2 for our 40th Anniversary Movers & Shakers Ball, featuring an exclusive design exposition on the future of sustainable transportation in Chicagoland
ABOUT THE EVENT
Active Transportation Alliance is celebrating 40 years of reimagining mobility in our region! To celebrate, this year’s Movers & Shakers Ball will host an exposition of forward-thinking design ideas that showcase what the future of sustainable transportation could look like in our region.
Come be inspired by creative design concepts from local architects, design firms, planners, and engineers as they display what's possible when sustainable transportation is elevated in the way it deserves.
The evening will also include fantastic drinks, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and entertainment, along with remarks from Active Transportation Alliance Executive Director, Amy Rynell.
The Movers & Shakers Ball will take place at Walden Chicago (2145 W Walnut St, Chicago) on Friday, May 2 from 6pm – 9pm.
EXHIBITORS
Current urban development is designed around car travel, with busy streets and ample parking as the default. But cities weren’t always built this way, and alternate urban environments are possible – environments that are built for people, giving priority to sustainable transportation options that would make our region healthier, more equitable, and more connected.
Through an invitation process, we asked local design, architecture, engineering firms and others to submit forward-thinking design concepts showing what Chicagoland could look like when walking, biking, and public transit are given the emphasis they deserve.
These visions will be on display at the Movers & Shakers Ball to encourage us all to imagine what’s possible. The exhibition is entitled “Sustainable Transportation in the Chicago of Tomorrow.”
