With spring around the corner, it's a great time to get our 5th grade students thinking about the bicycle as a way of getting around for fun or transportation.
In that vein, Active Trans and the League of Illinois Bicyclists (LIB) are once again partnering with Saris Cycling, Schwinn, Planet Bike and Lazer Sport to support the 5th Grade Poster Competition.
The theme of the competition this year is "Bicycling Takes Me Places."
Three winners will be selected from Illinois to compete for a chance to participate at the National Bike Summit in Washington, DC.
Those winners will also receive great prizes, including a bike, bike lights and helmets. The winning schools will be eligible for a bike parking system and an active transportation tracking system.
