Send your thanks for the Lincoln Hub project

The six-way intersection at Lincoln, Wellington, and Southport is about to get a whole lot safer. During the next couple of weeks, the area will be transformed into the Lincoln Hub, a project organized by the Lakeview Chamber and SSA27 with support from Ald. Waguespack and CDOT’s Make Way for People program.

In addition to including “people spots”, greenery, and public art, the Lincoln Hub includes the use of painted curb extensions to shorten crosswalk distances and calm traffic. If these curb extensions prove effective, the area could serve as a model for instant transformations of other intersections throughout Chicago!

You can learn more about the project and voice your support on May 12 at the South Lakeview Neighbors Meeting where the project will be on the agenda.

Getting these types of projects off the ground, approved, and completed can be tough work, so I’m hoping you’ll join me in sending a personalized “thank-you” email to the Lakeview Chamber, Ald. Waguespack, and CDOT for their efforts.

Here’s some sample wording you’re free to use/modify to send an email:

Hello!
