Did You Know?

Half of school children walked or biked to school in 1969, but only 13 percent were doing it in 2009.

Work your advocacy muscle at Streetside Outreach training

You can make a difference in the way that people perceive biking, walking, and transit by becoming a trained Streetside Outreach volunteer.  Active Trans' needs as many trained members as possible to show up at commmunity events, bike events, and other streetside venues where we can spread the word about our movement for safe, convenient, and fun travel.  Come to a Streetside Outreach training session to refresh your air pumping, chain lubing and helmet fitting skills, polish your talking points on Active Transportation Alliance membership, and to learn how to positively engage other cyclists hungry for a better riding environment.

We need more volunteers than ever to pull off this year's more than 30 outreach events during Bike to Work Week, June 15 through 19.

Join us at Active Trans Headquarters, 9 W. Hubbard St., Suite 402, Chicago, for an hour long training and opportunities to sign up for upcoming outreach opportunities at any of the following sessions:

Thursday, May 7, 7pm*

Friday, May 8, 12pm

Tuesday, May 26, 7pm*

Thursday, June 4, 7pm*

*Follows immediately after Bike Commuter Challenge Team Leader meet-up.
