Did You Know?

Only 24 percent of jobs in the region are accessible by transit in 90 minutes or less by a typical resident — and that number drops to 12 percent in the suburbs.

Volunteer for the bike parking-a-palooza!

Have a little free time the weekend of August 3-5? Interested in helping to improve biking in Chicago while encouraging people to ride their bikes to Lollapalooza?

Well, you are in luck! Active Trans' Bike Valet is looking for volunteers to help us finish our program that accomplishes two important goals — to provide free and secure bike parking at the biggest special events in the city and raise needed funds to support Active Trans.

We're looking for volunteers to assist us in parking and watching the hundreds of bikes that will be checked at the station.  If you can do a four-hour volunteer shift, you will not only have a meal provided for you, but you'll also have the ability to overhear music from the Bud Light Stage.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday volunteer shifts are:

10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

If you're interested in lending a hand, email Katie at bikevalet@activetrans.org and let her know which shift you'd like to do!

And if you have tickets to the show, please consider getting there by taking your bike! Our valet corral will be across the street from the festival, on the northwest corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive — near the crosswalk to get from the Lakefront Trail.
