Only 24 percent of jobs in the region are accessible by transit in 90 minutes or less by a typical resident — and that number drops to 12 percent in the suburbs.

Public meeting on improving Logan Blue Line station and plaza

Active Trans has been working with Bike Walk 35—Logan Square's (35th Ward) committee of residents working with Ald. Colon—to identify specific projects that will improve biking and walking in the ward.

The committee's first major project is focused on improving the Logan Square Blue Line CTA station and plaza by enhancing bike and pedestrian accommodations for transit riders, as well as overhauling the plaza space.

The committee will be presenting design proposals at a public meeting this Thursday, Aug. 25,  to Ald. Colon and the community with the goal of getting feedback from local residents and building support for the project.

The meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Sylvester Church Gymnasium at 2157 N. Humboldt Blvd. For more information, contact Bike Walk 35 Committee chair Nicole Semple at colellis@gmail.com.
