New Lights between Diversey and Fullerton

The much anticipated and needed Lakefront Trail lights between Diversey and Fullerton are moving forward and work should begin soon. This area of the Trail is significantly far from Lake Shore Drive and can be quite dark. Originally upgraded as a part of the Army Corps of Engineers Lakefront Revetment project this section of the Trail, unfortunately, did not include lighting. The project did, however, significantly upgrade what was a potentially dangerous section of the Lakefront Trail.

Now, this section of the Trail will be complete with the installation of lighting! We will work with the Park District to unsure minimal impact on Trail traffic during installation of the lighting. Active Trans has been advocating for lighting in this area since the Trail upgrade and we are very happy to see this project come to completion.
