Chicago’s first protected bike lane on Kinzie St. increased ridership by 55 percent without increasing traffic congestion for cars.

Lakefront Trail Construction starting 10/26

A small but significant construction project will be taking place over the next week on the Oak Street Bend. The pavement will be ground down and replaced in two sections. The first stage will last 2-3 days and will force Trail users to a section of the Bend that is closest to the water (see photo). Let us hope that the wind doesn't come from the northeast during that time.

The second section of repair will be closer to the water and Trail traffic will be routed closer to LSD and away from the water.

This is much needed work and will make this area safer for all Trail users.
