Did You Know?
If Lebron can do it…any Chicago athletes up for biking to work?
I've never been much of a King James fan, but my approval rating of the Miami Heat forward jumped more than a few percentage points upon hearing the news earlier this week that he bikes to work. All the time, Lebron James clarified, and that's saying something when Florida is not exactly known for its safe streets.
Here in Chicago, things are a different story: every one of our major stadiums is located adjacent to a well traveled, marked bike lane or route:
- Wrigley Field – Clark Street (free Bike Valet during the season powered by our friends at SRAM and World Bicycle Relief)
- US Cellular Field – Halsted Street
- Soldier Field – the Lakefront Trail
- United Center – Damen Avenue and Washington Street
So consider the challenge issued.
What are your favorite Chicago athletes that you'd like to see biking to work? Derek Rose, Paul Konerko, Charles Tillman, Patrick Kane, Ryan Dempster…whereyat?
