Green bike/walk tour in Oak Park and River Forest

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, Oak Park-based Green Community Connections will sponsor a self-guided, informational tour of selected green initiatives in Oak Park and River Forest.

The biking or walking tour starts at 1 p.m. and culminates at 4 p.m. with an after-tour gathering.

Participants can choose among 15 residential and community sites featuring high-efficiency homes, community and school gardens, small composting operations, homes with geothermal heating and cooling systems, urban chicken farming and more.
