Forest Park enforces Must Stop for Pedestrians law

Illinois' Must Stop for Pedestrians law is being enforced in a number of places. To step up enforcement, several communities have installed yellow signs reminding drivers to stop. And yes, tickets are being issued to violators.

Earlier this week Forest Park took it to another level by holding an enforcement event that got a lot of attention. Along with pulling cars over and issuing tickets to violators, the village let everyone know what happened by putting up a lighted sign.

Wednesday evening drivers in Forest Park were greeted by one sign reminding them about the law and another sign indicating 21 tickets issued yesterday. Check out the photos…and don't forget to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks.

Way to go Forest Park!
