Did You Know?

The Chicago region’s current hub-and-spoke transit system leaves nearly half a million Cook County residents stranded in transit deserts.

Celebrate Humboldt Park

On Saturday, Aug. 20, you might consider checking out the Humboldt Park Art Fair for a day of community art, fun and food.

One activity of particular interest to active transportation devotees is the celebration of the streetscape completion on Chicago Ave between Pulaski and Kedzie.

At 3 p.m. you can join a parade that starts at Orr High School (730 N. Pulaski Ave.) and ends at Kells Park (3201 W. Chicago Ave). You'll see new planters and murals, as well as new sidewalks and curb cuts.

The new streetscape was guided by residents' input through an Active Trans walkability assessment. Check out Active Trans' Better Blocks program to learn about how we help local residents make their blocks and neighborhoods safer and easier to get around.
