Roughly every three days, one person biking or walking is killed by someone driving a car in the Chicago region.

Action alert! Protect Illinois pedestrians!

Make drivers stop – not just yield

Urge your senator to protect Illinois pedestrians!

We are expecting a close vote on HB 43, which would require drivers to STOP for pedestrians.

Current state law requires motorists to yield. This is vague and difficult to enforce.

Suburban senators, in particular, could make the difference when they vote for HB 43. So call yours right now!

The House passed HB 43 in February and we are hopeful the Senate will do the same.

Pedestrians need the protection: More than 6,000 people in Illinois were hit while walking in a crosswalk, which resulted in 170 fatalities and 1,000 serious injuries, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
