Taking Velodrome Idea for a Spin in Des Plaines

A Des Plaines Journal article reported that an area bike riding association and other local cyclists brought the idea of velodrome to Des Plaines Mayor Marty Moylan. The mayor is a bike rider himself and now three sites are under consideration for the development of a multi-million dollar privately developed velodrome. Only 19 velodromes are in operation in the U.S.

Active Trans just posted recently about a new velodrome effort in Chicago and will be keeping an eye on both of these projects.
