Did You Know?

Chicago’s first protected bike lane on Kinzie St. increased ridership by 55 percent without increasing traffic congestion for cars.

Lakefront Trail Conditions 4/6/11

The Lakefront Trail is in fairly stable condition right now. The minimal wind is from the SW this Wednesday (4/6) morning, so waves are not an issue. It is always nice to have the wind from the West as the wind tends to be more variable with buildings and trees giving you an occasional break from any head wind or cross wind that you may experience. West winds also, usually, keep the temperature a little bit warmer on the Lakefront.

Part of the fencing at the 31st Street detour has now been taken down providing much better sight lines on the north end of the detour.

So far, the temporary fix for the washed away sections of the Trail near Fullerton and south of North Avenue have held up. Full repairs will be made before Memorial Day.

Thanks, Randy
