It may be cold but we’ve got a sure fire way to warm you up and put a smile on your face! It’s the return of Active Trans’ Winter Bike Challenge!
We think there is no better way to beat those cooped up pandemic blues by bundling up and hopping on the saddle again. The Winter Bike Challenge will run Monday, January 25 – Sunday, February 7, 2021.
It’s super easy (and free) to sign up. Once you’ve registered you can track your trips, challenge riders and win cool prizes! ANY trip on your bike between January 25th and February 7th counts!

Points
So, how do you earn points? Here’s the nitty gritty:
- First Time Winter Bike Commuter = 25 points (check the new rider box during registration!)
- 1 Mile = 1 point (receive one point for each mile you ride)
- Per Trip = 5 points (max of 10 points per day or two trips)
- 5 Days = 50 points (must be 5 consecutive trips including weekends)
Official Rules
- The 2021 Winter Bike Challenge will take place January 25 – February 7, 2021
- Any trip by bike may be counted during the Challenge, however stationary bikes or trainers do not count. You must ride on a road or path.
- Participants may bike to the train or bus and count the biking portion as a trip.
- All trips must be logged and submitted by 11:59pm, Sunday, February 14, 2021 in order to count.
- Individuals competing for the top rider position must show proof of their mileage logged, such as with a trip tracking app like Strava or Ride with GPS
- This is a fun, friendly competition based on the honor system. Please do not lie or cheat. NOT COOL!
